  • ALE programs include courses or grade-level coursework where some or all of the instruction takes place independently from the regular classroom or school setting.
  • The intent of ALE is to ensure that students have educational opportunities designed to meet their individualized needs.
  • No cost to enroll; it is funded as part of Washington State public education. Students are enrolled in Bellevue School District as students in Bellevue Digital Discovery School.
  • Open to students entering K-8 in the fall of 2025.

Course Options

  • Flexible learning options can include:

  • A certificated BSD teacher and parent develop a Student Learning Plan for each student, combining the above options and aligned with state and district standards. At least 28 hours of planned learning activities per week will be reflected in the plan.
